    KIM-NANO

On the "obsolescence" website, the KIM-UNO, based on an Arduino Pro Mini microcomputer, is presented with its complete documentation.

Mention is made of the possibility of using an Arduino without a keyboard or LED display, with only a Serial/USB interface and a terminal program.

Obsolescence...

Having two different KIM-UNO, which I got already assembled since I am incompetent at soldering, I decided to try to produce a "solo" version without a physical keyboard or LED display.

Rather than an Arduino Pro Mini which requires a Serial/USB interface, I chose an Arduino Nano board in which the Serial/USB interface is already integrated.

Then I took the latest 2020 version of KIM-UNO for Arduino Pro Mini / Atmega328P and adapted it to make an Arduino Nano version usable only via the serial port with Hyperterm or TeraTerm.

This version includes:
  • Help on commands,
  • Help on utilities,
  • Disassembly of programs (Wozniak & Baum),
  • Loading/Saving programs in “Papertape” format,
  • Backup of programs,
  • Lowercase can be used.

  • Of course, the KIM-NANO works perfectly with a compatible Nano board (less than €3) which is more economical than a real Arduino Nano (around €28)!

... also works with an Arduino Uno board (or compatible Uno board)

Plus a small junction box (20x25x65mm) to enclose the Nano board and a printed cover to finish it all off...
