The NP-34 is not really a calculator but rather 11 different calculators :

NP-34
|
|
 The NP-34 interfaces allow the exchange of source programs for the :
HP-25, HP-29C, HP-33C, HP-34C and HP-38C
The NP-34 is built on the basis of a TI msp430g2744 microcontroller and can be connected to a PC via a TI LaunchPad MSP-EXP430F5529LP.
The MSP Flasher utility allows you to load, but also to save, the firmware of the NP-34 in the form of a ".hex" file.
This ".hex" file contains the emulation part of the calculators but also for each of them the RAM part containing the data (registers and programs).
The programs and registers of the 5 programmable calculators supported by the NP-34 can be extracted from the ".hex" file from the calculator for editing and printing.
These programs and registers can then be re-injected into the calculator after rebuilding a ".hex" file with the updated RAM.
In each ZIP of each interface, command files are provided as examples. (to be adapted according to your file organization)

NP-34 Overlays
On the front panel of the NP-34 the printed function indications correspond to the calculator HP-34C.
These indications do not apply to other calculator models whose use can be facilitated by keyboard overlays.
You can print the keyboard overlays on Bristol board, and cut them with a precision cutter (x-acto knife).

NP-34 Keyboard boxes
Since keyboard overlays don't allow for easy reading of all calculator functions, I designed keyboard boxes that allow the NP-34 calculators to be slipped inside.
Printed on 80g paper and then laminated, these boxes allow for more legible use of keyboards with the most text.
Key operation is similar to that of membrane-covered keyboards like the credit-card-sized DM. (DM12C, DM15C, DM16C, DM41C)

NP-34 Firmware
Chris Chung makes firmware updates available on GitHub, along with all the information for performing the updates.
Updating the NP-34 firmware can be done using
an USB TTL dongle (FTDI)
a TI LaunchPad (MSP-EXP430F5529L)
