WP-34S

Is there one WP-34S" or several WP-34S?

Because this calculator can be built either on the basis of a HP-20b or on the basis of a HP-30b...

But in addition it can be manufactured with or without USB connector and with or without infrared diode.

The WP-34S is presented as an RPN entry-level scientific calculator which incorporates the functionalities of the HP-42S, HP-16C and HP-32SII with very advanced statistical and mathematical possibilities.
It is therefore not an exact clone of an existing calculator but rather a hybrid clone, a kind of mutant inspired by several machines.

Its keyboard made of stickers superimposed on the calculator keys offers many possibilities thanks to prefixes f g et h.

As with most clone calculators, documentation in PDF format can be found on the web.
But for the WP-34S this documentation is particularly rich, even the user manual (PDF) is offered in Chinese version. ()
On the Amazon (US) site, the 410-page “paper” user manual is also available in english.

WP-43

The WP-43 appeared to be an improved WP-34S that could be installed on a DM42 !
Considering the cost difference between a DM42 and an HP-20b or HP-30b this could not seem very convincing...

Several people have contacted me thinking I should talk about it on this site.
And Walter Bonin, himself, made me want to try to find out more !
In reality, the WP-43 has nothing to do with the WP-34S and it is not just another programmable calculator to compete with existing ones.
Indeed, the features are difficult to list, as the list is so long and the most unexpected ones are added.
A true mathematical and scientific encyclopedia with limits that are pushed far, very far...(Ex: calculation with 34 digits of accuracy).
The WP-43 definitely seems to be a WP34S+++ worth looking at.
